PAE10 Float Type Air Eliminator
A cast iron ball float air eliminator with stainless steel internals that automatically discharges air or gas from liquid systems, installed at high points, rated to 21 bar(g) / 220°C.
- IBR / ASME standard
- Nationwide service
Overview
The PAE10 Float Type Air Eliminator by Pennant Engineering is a ball float air eliminator in cast iron construction with stainless steel internals, designed to automatically discharge air or gas present in a liquid system. It is installed vertically at the high points of a liquid system where air collects, with flow from bottom to top. Rated to 21 bar(g) maximum allowable pressure and 220°C.
Caution: not for hazardous or poisonous media — this is a discharge-to-atmosphere device.
Built and supplied by ME Engineering to IBR / ASME standards, with full documentation and nationwide service support.

Applications
Benefits
The ball float mechanism responds directly to liquid level, so it discharges accumulated air automatically without any external control or power, which is what makes it reliable at unattended high points across a piping system.
Removing trapped air from a liquid system restores heat transfer efficiency and prevents air-binding of pumps and equipment, which is the core operational reason to fit one at every high point where air collects.
Three orifice sizes (1.0, 1.2, 1.5 mm) trade maximum operating pressure against air discharge capacity, so the unit is matched to the actual line pressure rather than compromising on one fixed orifice.
Viton valve pin gives good chemical and temperature resistance at the sealing point, which is the highest-wear part, and it is available as a spare so the unit is serviceable rather than disposable.
Cast iron body keeps cost down for general liquid service, appropriate given the non-hazardous media restriction and the 21 bar(g) ceiling.
The explicit caution against hazardous or poisonous media matters: this is a discharge-to-atmosphere device, so the air it vents escapes locally, making it unsuitable for toxic systems by design rather than by rating.
