Overview
A pressure reducing station (PRS) is a fully assembled skid that automatically reduces and maintains downstream pressure in piping systems carrying steam, water, gas, or compressed air. Each PRS from ME Engineering is engineered and built to the customer's specific requirements, covering fluid type, flow rate, inlet and outlet pressure, line size, material, and safety settings. Built to Your Process Requirements Rather than a single fixed valve, a PRS is a complete assembly combining a pressure reducing valve with isolation, safety, and monitoring components, sized and configured for the exact duty of the line it serves. This allows the station to be matched precisely to inlet pressures from 10 to 20 kg/cm² and outlet pressures from 2 to 10 kg/cm², across pipe sizes from 25 NB to 200 NB. Multi-Fluid Capability The station can be configured for steam, water, gas, or compressed air service, with body materials selected according to the fluid and pressure class — including cast steel, alloy steel, and stainless steen construction. All connections are flanged end for secure, leak-tight installation. Built-In Safety Every PRS assembly includes safety provisions such as a safety shut-off valve and relief valve, with over-pressure and under-pressure settings configured to protect downstream equipment and personnel from abnormal operating conditions. Engineered, Not Off-the-Shelf Because every plant's steam or fluid distribution needs differ, ME Engineering selects and assembles each PRS individually rather than offering a fixed catalogue unit — ensuring the station fits the actual flow rate, pressure drop, and safety requirements of the installation.
Built and supplied by ME Engineering to IBR / ASME standards, with full documentation and nationwide service support.
