PT62HP Float & Thermostatic Steam Trap (DN15-25)
High-pressure H-pattern float & thermostatic steam trap in cast steel (ASTM A216 Gr. WCB), DN15–25, with internal air vent and SLR/IBR options. Rated to 32 kg/cm²(g) and 400°C.
- IBR / ASME standard
- Nationwide service
Overview
The PT62HP is a high-pressure, H-pattern float and thermostatic (F&T) steam trap with an internal thermostatic air vent, built in cast steel (ASTM A216 Gr. WCB) with stainless steel internals, covering the DN15–25 size band. It drains condensate from low- and medium-pressure steam heating and process equipment with a modulating discharge at steam temperature and excellent automatic air venting.
It is available with steam lock release (SLR) options and in Non-IBR or IBR-approved form. The trap is rated to 400°C with a 32 kg/cm²(g) maximum operating pressure.
Variants
- PT62HP — thermostatic air vent.
- PT62HP S — with Steam Lock Release (SLR).
- PT62HP C — thermostatic air vent plus SLR.
- Three differential-pressure ratings: PT62HP-21, PT62HP-25 and PT62HP-32, matched to line pressure.
For low- and medium-pressure duty where a cast steel body is not required, see the cast iron PT61.
Built and supplied by ME Engineering to IBR / ASME standards, with full documentation and nationwide service support.

Applications
Benefits
Cast steel body to ASTM A216 Gr. WCB is the reason this trap is rated far higher than the cast iron PT61, taking it to 32 kg/cm² operating pressure and 400°C, which is the correct choice for high-pressure steam mains where a cast iron trap would not be permitted.
The float-and-thermostatic mechanism discharges condensate continuously at steam temperature, keeping the full heating surface of process equipment active, unlike traps that back up condensate to sub-cool it.
The internal thermostatic air vent clears air automatically on start-up, avoiding the air-binding that slows down inverted bucket traps at commissioning.
IBR-approved option is available, which is a legal requirement for boiler-connected steam piping in India, so the same product can serve regulated and non-regulated installations by specifying NIBR or IBR at order time.
Three differential-pressure variants (21 / 25 / 32) let the orifice be matched to the actual working differential, since a float trap's capacity falls as its pressure rating rises and an oversized orifice can fail to seal.
Graphite gasket with SS reinforcement withstands the higher temperature and thermal cycling of this pressure class better than a soft or non-asbestos gasket, reducing the risk of cover-joint leakage over the trap's life.
Welded-on ASTM A105 forged carbon steel flanges give a proper high-pressure flange joint integral to the body, rather than a threaded flange adapter that would be a weak point at this rating.
