Mushroom Pasteurization Autoclave System – KK Mushroom Farm
Design and fabrication of a custom autoclave system for mushroom substrate pasteurization and sterilization at KK Mushroom Farm, Lubhu.
A mushroom pasteurization autoclave is a pressure vessel that uses controlled steam at elevated temperature to sterilize or pasteurize mushroom growing substrate, killing competing moulds, bacteria, and pests before spawning. ME Engineering is designing and fabricating this autoclave system for KK Mushroom Farm in Lubhu, Kathmandu, to support more consistent, large-scale substrate preparation. Substrate sterilization is one of the most critical steps in commercial mushroom cultivation. Inconsistent or incomplete pasteurization leads to contaminated batches, uneven colonisation, and yield losses. By supplying a purpose-built autoclave system, ME Engineering aims to give the farm repeatable, controlled steam treatment cycles, helping improve product consistency and overall production efficiency as the operation scales up. The system is being engineered to IBR-compliant pressure vessel standards consistent with ME Engineering's core boiler manufacturing practice, applying the same fabrication and quality discipline used across the company's steam equipment range under its Make in Nepal / Made in Nepal identity.
What we delivered
Equipment & ratings supplied
KK Mushroom Farm needed a reliable way to pasteurize growing substrate at scale, as inconsistent sterilization was affecting batch quality and limiting production efficiency.
ME Engineering is designing and fabricating a dedicated autoclave system to deliver controlled, repeatable steam pasteurization cycles, supporting consistent substrate quality for large-scale cultivation.
